Golf Outing
The fourth annual Refuge Ministries Charity Golf Outing was held on Sept. 11th and was greatly blessed. Thanks to all who came out and played or came and had lunch with us. A special thanks goes to all the workers and everyone who helped us with prizes, hole sponsors and enlisting players. Thanks to Jeff and Ginney Johnson, Joe and Laurie Link and Larry Burns who were all a great help in making the event successful. Thanks also to all who prayed for the event. God gave us a beautiful day and everyone had a great time.
This year the new set of Cobra golf clubs was won by Dell Alva a first time player who saw our flyer at General Motors and came out to play.
The 27 inch flat screen TV was also won by a first time player Ed La Frombois. We hope these winners will make it an annual event.
The first place team (pic below) led by John Henning won $75.00 each.
Rosey's second place team each won $40.00.
Steve Austin's third place team won 1 dozen golf balls each.
Our fourth place prize was one sleeve golf balls each. That went to Jason and Jack Duff. They were the only two on their team.
This year we had a brand new Ford Mustang as a prize for a hole in one but no one won. Next time we hope someone will win.
It was a great time of Christian fellowship and fun for everyone while helping the ministry help needy children in Mexico.

Next year we plan to hold the fifth annual charity golf outing on Saturday, September 10. We're believing God for even greater prizes. Mark your calendars and plan to come out and have great time while helping take the gospel to the nations and helping the poor.
Mexico
All of our children are back in school and enjoying another year of learning. We can still use more school supplies for our many students. The greatest needs are notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, school glue and backpacks. Many of the students had to have new uniforms or just new clothes for the new school year. Boys seem to go through shoes and pants so fast. This has taken our clothing fund down to almost nothing. We try to keep enough in the clothing fund for the directors to buy clothes for the children as the needs come up, but starting school has drained it. If anyone would like to help with money for the children's clothes please mark your checks, Mexico clothing fund.
Construction is continuing on the dormitories and this year we intend to build new bathrooms for the boys. This month we will have another work team come to help us with the building. Next month we will give you an update on that work team. This is a good time of year for work teams as it is not too hot nor too cold. The weather is generally very nice this time of year.
China
Last month we sent $160 to China to buy bibles to be taken out to remote areas where bibles are greatly needed. This amount will purchase 40 bibles for Christians who have never had a bible of their own. Here in America where we all have so many bibles available to us it seems strange to not be able to have a bible of your own. But then most of us have no idea of what the persecuted church suffers in China. Please pray for those who are taking these bibles out to the needy. These precious brothers and sisters are sacrificing for the cause of Christ at great danger of being arrested and tortured in Chinese prison camps. Pray also for American missionaries working in China that they will not be the cause of any Chinese believers arrest.
Next month we will be sending more $$ to China to purchase more bibles. If anyone would like to help with this ongoing project just mark your checks, Bibles for China.
