The construction on the farm continues. The walls are going up on the new kitchen and dining hall.
We don’t want the children on the scaffolding. But Irving will try the limits.
Philippines
This is public transportation in the Philippines. Ron does not fit but he does travel in these vehicles. Maybe he should try riding on the top.
Ron will be leaving for the Philippines on May 3rd instead of June as reported in a previous newsletter. The date was changed in order to hold the Pastors and Leaders conference during school vacation. The conference will be held May 6-9 after that Ron will be visiting several of the churches. Please pray for his protection as there has been an increase of violence and kidnapping in the area lately. In spite of the violence the ministries are growing. All of the leaders are looking forward to the conference and Ron’s visit.
Preparing to feed the Pastors at a previous conference. They will be fed the same way this time. They love their rice in the Philippines.
Many Pastors come to this conference from the rural area surrounding Cotabato City. Pastors from other denominations come as well and they all look forward to this time of learning and being ministered to. While there Pastors from out of town sleep in the school classrooms and we feed them spiritually as well as physically as they cannot afford to eat otherwise.
Expenses for this conference run about $2,000.00. So far Ron has been able to purchase his ticket for the trip but he does not have the expense money for the conference yet. We are believing for God to bring it in before he leaves.
This is a local grocery store similar to the one in which they will buy the food for the conference. In the Philippines they are experiencing inflation which is causing the price of food to rise. They do not have an opportunity to get a raise or help from the government. There are no government bail outs for anything.
What a blessing we have in this country that we have such fantastic grocery stores and an abundance of choices.
If anyone can help with any amount for the expenses of this conference it will be a great blessing to the Philippine Pastors and Leaders. Even if the money comes after Ron is gone we can still get it to him in the Philippines. We understand that this may be sacrificial giving but we know that God will bless you for all that you do for the poor. That is a promise from His Word.
