Mexico
One of our partners wanted to do something special for our children at the Children’s Home in Mexico. She was not able to visit personally so she had an idea! She wanted to help the children with new clothing. She went to WalMart on line and picked out what she wanted and had it shipped to our address in El Paso. When the clothing arrived at the Children’s Home it was like another Christmas.
So often our children wear second hand clothes so when they get new ones it is very special. We have some pictures of the children wearing their new clothes and contrary to popular belief they are not lined up for a firing squad they just look that way. When you tell our children you want pictures of them they stand up tall and look scared.
This was such a great idea and so thoughtful. The kids had no idea they were going to be so blessed. They really did feel like it was Christmas all over again. When the children go out their friends all have nice clothes so this was a huge blessing in their lives. This was a great booster for their self confidence.
Construction on the farm is moving along and our children are helping out.
They love to help and construction is always something a bit different for them. The older boys really enjoy it and the younger ones think it is great fun. This is just a weekend project for them and then the professionals take over.The excitement of seeing big dump trucks and loads of sand and gravel dumped is something they do not experience every day.
The foundations and floors for the boy’s bathroom, boy’s dorm and kitchen-dining hall are all going up at once. This should be finished by the end of June.
We thank the church that sacrificed and sent the donation to purchase the materials and pay the workers to make this construction project possible. The workers on this project are all Christian and are taking lower wages because it is for the Children’s Home. Thank you so much from us and all the children.
