All of the children in the Children's Home, Casa de Refugio, (House of Refuge) had a wonderful Christmas. This year the children received more Christmas presents than ever before. We thank God, who used you all.
Thanks to Open Door Church in Swazi, Indiana for sending an individual present for each one of the children. These gifts included a bible or New Testament for each child and toys as well as some personal items that are always needed.
The children all felt so special to receive individual presents with their names on them given especially for them. And they were all wrapped. What a thrill to tear the paper off. Age did not matter when the paper started flying.
Geneva Lakes Church sent an offering to buy each one of the children a change of clothes which included sweaters, jackets and new jeans and shirts. Thank you so much for helping our children this Christmas.
This was so special to the children who so often have to wear hand- me down clothing that is donated by churches and individuals who help this ministry.
What a blessing it will be for the children to go back to school in new clothes just like so many of their classmates who come from regular families.
Some of these children have never had new clothes before coming to the Children's Home and some came in rags that had not been washed for a long time judging from the looks and the smell. Photo 8
Even the directors received gifts this Christmas, which is special as so often people give to the children and forget that the directors have just as many needs as the children.
Please pray that in 2008 the needs of these children will be met just as they were at Christmas. The needs continue throughout the year and we thank God for everyone who helps us to help these needy children. May 2008 be a year of great blessings for the children and workers in Chihuahua.
