Mexico
In December we had several visitors come to see the work in Mexico. We are thankful for their interest and their help for the poor. On our first trip to Chihuahua we went to the Children’s Home and to our mission work in San Juanito. We were able to purchase a gas heater for the boys dormitory. Our first set of visitors went shopping at WalMart and bought several grocery carts full of necessary items for the children. These included 48 rolls of toilet tissue (a one weeks supply), toothpaste, shampoo, laundry detergent, and groceries. It was a great blessing to the home. Becky Joens loved the children which made all of them very happy.
While in Chihuahua we were able to look at the piece of land that we will be buying in January.
It is located just outside the city of Chihuahua. The property is several times larger than the piece of land we have in the city. It already has a fence around it and a large building. The building has five rooms. One large room that will serve as a dormitory and another that will serve as the dining hall. There is a kitchen and a very small indoor bathroom that is not working at this time. There is an outdoor bathroom that is a separate building with toilets and a place for showers.
On our trip to San Juanito we had a mid-week service where we saw 17 people come to the Lord. We also saw several people healed.
On our second trip to Chihuahua we took another visitor. On this trip we were able to buy another gas heater for the girls dormitory and a new hot water heater. Now both dormitories have heat to keep them warm and hot water for showers. Praise the Lord. This visitor also went on a shopping spree for the home purchasing another weeks supply of things. She also took the teen girls shopping for girl things. They were all so excited.

The children and the directors all received Christmas presents and had a wonderful Christmas.
Philippines
On the 4th of Feb. Ron and his team will be heading for the Philippines. The following is an itinerary of their trip so that you can pray for them. Remember there is 13 hours difference between Central time and Philippine time. When it is Sat the 4th 8AM in Chicago it is Sat the 4th 11PM in the Philippines.

Feb 5th - Arrive Manila at 10:55PM
Feb 6th - Day of rest
Feb 7th - Fly to General Santos City 10AM
Feb 8th - 11th - Pastors and Leaders Conference in Malongon, South Cotabato
Feb 12th & 13th - Lebak Special Meeting with Pastors who want to affiliate with RM
Feb 14th - Preaching in local churches Cotabato City
Feb 15th - 17th - Pastors & Leaders Conference in Cotabato City
Feb 18th - Business Meeting
Feb 19th - Preach Cotabato City gathering of churches
Feb 19th PM - Board Meeting
Feb 20th - Fly to Manila and overnight
Feb 21st 8AM - Fly to LA
Feb 21st 8AM - Arrive in LA - no this is not a typo they cross the date line.
Please pray for protection for Ron and his team as they travel and minister. There are still many violent Muslim rebels in this area. Very few Westerners visit this part of the Philippines because of the danger of kidnapings and assignations. Pray for a great anointing as Ron and his team ministers to the Pastors and leaders.
2006 Request
As you look over your giving for the New Year please consider the needs of Refuge Ministries. This coming year will be a challenge for us as we take on more responsibilities with the purchase of the new land. We will have more building to do in order to take in more children. Our expenses will double for utilities, transportation, and other needs. In the Philippines we need to purchase land and build more churches. If you believe this ministry is good seed please consider sowing into it as the Lord leads you. Even a small monthly amount of $5 or $10 will help greatly. We are so indebted to a sister who is on a fixed income but for many years has been giving $12 per month to help feed the children. What a blessing she has been to us. If you cannot give please pray for God to increase the financial support of this ministry. God bless you and we want to wish every one of you a happy and prosperous New Year in Christ’s love.
