25th Anniversary Year
"And the Angel said to them, do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; for today in the City of David there has been born for you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11 NAS
Mexico
Once again the weather is turning cold. In Mexico the temperature has already fallen below freezing. We know it will be colder in December and January. This is the time of the year that we need blankets, jackets, sweaters, winter gloves, hats and scarves. Another need we have is cough medicine and childrens vitamins.
We not only use these things for the children in Chihuahua but also for the works we have up in the mountains. It gets even colder up there and the people are very poor. The need for warm blankets and jackets is magnified.
Many of the children do go to school and one reason is that they do not have proper clothes for the cold. The women walk about in thin cardigan sweaters as that is all they have. The blankets on their beds are thin and worn. We hope to help many of these needy people stay warm this winter.
The Childrens Home is in need of two more gas heaters to heat the dorms. We can purchase these for $180.00 here in El Paso. It will cost even more in Chihuahua. We are hoping to purchase a couple of heaters and take them down very soon.
The Childrens Home is also in need of more beds. We have more children so we need more beds. I do not have a current price but will have one next month. Six years ago when we bought the beds it cost us $200.00 for a set of bunk beds. It will probably be more but I will report more next month.
Anyone who wants to help with vitamins, blankets etc. we are always happy to receive them and then distribute the items. At the same time we can buy them either here or in Mexico (actually Mexico is better because everything is in Spanish) cheaper than you can buy and ship. Shipping is always expensive. Therefore, if you want to send a check please mark your check blankets or cough med & vitamins, heaters or whatever your specifically desire.
Philippines
For the last two months we have been sending money to the Philippines to put a roof on a church. This new church is located in Kalamansig, an area where Ron did a Crusade 10 years ago. This Crusade birthed several churches this being one of the churches. This month we will send the final instalment to complete the church construction. They still need to put some concrete blocks around the bottom. Praise God we will soon have the church complete.

This is a letter from Pastor Jane who is the head of the Campus Ministry in Kabakan, where a major University is located:
"We are happy to have our new building and new quarters for Campus Ministry including my parsonage. We are now in the fifth month in the G12 Tool of Evangelism. During the first semester I handled 3 groups with different scheduled meetings. I separated them by session. I met with the 16 that are living with me at 4:30 every morning. I met with another group on Mondays at 5:30 in the afternoon. I met with the third group on Wednesdays and held another meeting for leaders. It was hard at first but when I noticed changes among the students I was challenged to continue. We now enjoy doing our meetings especially since our great Encounter with God. In September 32 students attended the Re-Encounter and it was a great success. I have identified 9 possible leaders who are able to handle their own groups. They are willing and excited about the task. Thanks to our brethren there for their help and prayers.
Pastor Jane"
Christmas
In this Christmas season we wish to thank all of you who have supported Refuge Ministries in the last year. May God bless you abundantly for what you have done for His Kingdom. Please continue to help us in the year ahead. No donation is too small or too big. We provide an opportunity for you to touch the lives of the needy and bring the Gospel to the lost in nations you may never be able to visit.
If you have never supported this ministry please pray about directing a portion of your giving to Refuge Ministries for the coming year. If you have been a supporter of Refuge Ministries please pray about increasing your giving in 2006. Together we can do more to help the poor, preach the Gospel and expand Gods Kingdom around the world.
Ron and Bernadette would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed and Prosperous New Year. May He who was born in a manager be born in the hearts of the lost souls around the world.
Thank you for your prayers and support. Ron & Bernadette Gartner
