We were able to purchase new bunk beds for all the children thanks to Rivers of Living Water Church in Alma, MI.
Our old beds were very well used. They have been moved to the new property and are being fixed so they can be used there. This was a blessing to the children.
We had a work team from Rockford, IL. They did a lot of work on the new property. They worked hard in the heat and yet we all had a great time.
We started off the work team with a service Sunday morning and then a trip to Burger King with all of the children. What a blessing that was.
Our children do not get to go out to eat unless we take them. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food and fellowship. This Burger King has the largest play area of any restaurant in the city and our children had a great time.
The men worked outside mixing cement and laying block.
The ladies worked inside painting. While the children painted outside and played. It is always good to see that the language barrier is overcome by love.
The children worked side by side painting the outside brick. It is not easy to paint brick yet they all did a great job. We called them the “Orange People” as they were all orange by the time they finished.
Children have a way of making friends even when they do not speak the same language. Will and Jonathan loved playing together.
The shorter ones worked on the bottom and the taller ones did the top. They did a great job. The shorter ones’ had more paint on them. Do you think it could be because the taller ones drop paint on them?
School will be starting in Mexico the middle of August. Our children will need many school supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils, glue sticks, paper, school bags etc.. If you want to help with these items you may send a check marked school supplies or send the supplies themselves.
Golf Outing
It is time to get ready for our 6th annual golf outing. This year it will be at Coachman’s Golf Resort in Edgerton, WI. on Sat September 23. MARK YOUR CALENDARS SAT SEPT 23RD. Bring a team and join in the fun. Once again we have great prizes on every hole. Registration starts at 7:00 AM with a shotgun start at 8:00 AM. The outing will include 18 holes of golf, a golf cart and lunch. Come and join the fun. See ya there!!!
